Biomass Storage

Biomass Storage Cut

Biomass storage as a method for carbon removal is inspired by nature's own processes. It mimics and accelerates the natural carbon storage process like in swamps, creating an effective and efficient solution that has the potential to reverse human interventions of draining moors for agriculture, mining, and burning fossil resources.

Trees absorb carbon during photosynthesis and store it in their biomass. An old-growth forest, though, is generally carbon-neutral, as trees also release CO2 during growth and decomposition.

Securely storing woody biomass underground prevents decomposition, so we effectively remove this carbon from the cycle for over 100 years.

By utilizing invasive trees and bushes that need to be removed from ecosystems, we support local communities and biodiversity, turning a challenge into an opportunity.
